The strategic partnership between Cushman & Wakefield Healey & Baker (C&W/H&B) and Fountain Capital Partners is geared to providing real estate investment management services in continental Europe.
Explaining the basis of the deal, John Travers, senior partner of C&W/H&B, says that “Fountain’s great experience and knowledge of the European markets is very complementary to our existing investment management business in the UK”.
Healey and Baker Investment Managers currently managers £1.5bn (E2.25bn) for pension funds, charities and family trusts in the UK. HBIM head, Bill MacLeod says: “In one hit, the Fountain team brings specialist investment management experience and knowledge gained in continental Europe that it would have taken us years to achieve organically.”
He adds: “This will accelerate our European expansion in both the direct and indirect real estate investment markets.”
Fountain was formed in 2002, by founding partners, Erik Sonden, Robert Campbell and David Rendell, along with Catella to provide asset management services to investors in European real estate. This followed by a recent management buy-out by the three who own the business.
