GLOBAL - Royal Mail Statutory Pension Scheme, Total, ERSTE Sparinvest, PIRC, Internos Real Investors, Grosvenor Fund Management, ING Real Estate Finance
Royal Mail Statutory Pension Scheme - Alan Pickering has been appointed chairman of the Royal Mail pension scheme. He will chair the governance group monitoring the RMSPS - the new public sector scheme that will assume the bulk of Royal Mail’s pension liabilities. Pickering is currently chairman at BESTrustees and a former chairman of the National Association of Pension Funds and the European Federation for Retirement Provision. He will take up his new position before the RMSPS is formally constituted on 1 April.
Total - Angeline Boef has resigned as chairman of the €270m Dutch pension fund of energy company Total. According to the board, she has taken the decision because she disagrees with a board’s majority decision on guarantees from board members for availability. Boef had been chairman since 1 January 2011.
ERSTE Sparinvest - The Austrian asset management subsidiary of the banking group ERSTE has named Wolfgang Pinner as chief sustainability investment officer. Pinner remains responsible for the sustainable investment product team at ERSTE Sparinvest, but will now also help apply sustainability criteria in the rest of the company, including voting strategies, sustainable key performance indicators or general exclusion criteria such as the manufacture of controversial weapons.
PIRC - David Dando has been appointed to manage the company’s custom services team. He joins from HBQ Partners, where he was an associate director. He has also served as director of international development at IRRC and director at ISS Europe. PIRC is the largest independent European provider of corporate governance, proxy voting and corporate social responsibility investment research.
Internos Real Investors - Kaupthing has appointed the real estate fund management business as investment manager of Celsius European Holdings SARL. Internos has hired the entire Invista real estate investment management Paris team and appointed Guillaume Masset as head of its French business. Internos also hired Mohamed Zein from DTZ as portfolio manager when it opened the Paris office towards the end of last year.
Grosvenor Fund Management - The company has reinforced its presence in the Swedish market with the opening of an office in Stockholm. Anneli Jansson and Fredrik Massing are its latest recruits to the team. Jansson joins from KF Fastigheter, one of Sweden’s largest retail groups, while Massing has seven years’ commercial real estate experience.
ING Real Estate Finance - Jan-Evert Post has been appointed to the management team, where he will be responsible for the ING REF businesses in Germany, Central and Eastern Europe, Asia and Australia. He joined the company in 2008. Arie Hubers will succeed him as head of corporate clients in the Netherlands.
