GLOBAL – Coal Pension Trustees, Mercer, Atkin & Co, Pramerica Fixed Income, Baring Asset Management, Amplion Asset Management
Coal Pension Trustees – Bill Dinning, formerly head of investment strategy at UBS, has left Kames Capital and will join the £20bn (€25bn) in-house investment team for the UK's closed coal industry pension funds. Based in London, he will be head of investment strategy, a post that became vacant last year when Stefan Dunatov was promoted to CIO. Dinning, who is currently on gardening leave and has worked at Kames since 2004, will join in early 2013, according to Dunatov.
Mercer – The consultancy has appointed Edwin Sier as retirement market business leader for its Benelux operations. Previously, Sier, who is a certifying and advising actuary for a number of larger pension funds in the Netherlands, was Benelux operations leader within Mercer's retirement division.
Atkin & Co – The pension scheme administrator and actuarial consultant has appointed Lucy Ledger as scheme actuary and client manager. She joins from KPMG and qualified as a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries in 2009. The appointment follows the recent announcement of John Bacon as operations manager.
Pramerica Fixed Income – Simon Males has been appointed managing director of institutional client relations. He joins from Pictet Asset Management, where he was head of global consultants and UK institutional business. He was also a product manager at Prudential.
Baring Asset Management (Barings) – Nicola Hayes has been appointed head of client service and relationship development. She joins from Invesco Perpetual, where she worked for more than a decade, latterly as associated director of global sales and relationship management.
Amplion Asset Management – Nordic Real Estate Partners' Jussi Thusberg is to join Catella subsidiary Amplion Asset Management as a director in March. Thusberg, who set up NREP's Finnish business, will assume responsibility for transactions and portfolio management.
