Pensioenfonds ING – Aldrik Venemans is to take the helm at the €25bn pension fund, succeeding Jos van Kleef, who has been in the job on a temporary basis since January. Venemans has been working at the ING scheme’s pensions bureau since 2011 as a financial risk manager and an investment strategist. Prior to joining ING in 2011, Venemans held actuarial positions at consultancy Mercer and PVF Achmea, one of the predecessors of pensions provider Syntrus Achmea.
European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) – The European regulator has extended the terms of office for the chair, Steven Maijoor, and executive director, Verena Ross, for another five years. The board said it based its decision on an evaluation of Maijoor and Ross’s work over the past five years, as well as on ESMA’s requirements for the coming years. The decision to extend Maijoor’s term is subject to confirmation by the European Parliament.
Allianz Global Investors – Mike Riddell has been appointed as a UK fixed income portfolio manager. Allianz said Riddell’s appointment would expand its euro-zone fixed income capability to include a regional fixed income focus in the UK. Riddell, who starts his new role on 1 October, joins from M&G Investments.
La Française Global Investment Solutions – Michael Hattab-Maruani has been appointed as a senior credit portfolio manager. He was formerly head of the US credit equity proprietary trading desk at BNP Paribas, having worked previously as a senior correlation trader at Société Générale.
