Schroders, Morgan Stanley, QIC, Vontobel, Woodman, Kames, Fisch, Aries Insight, JLT, BMO
Schroders – Huw van Steenis has been appointed to the newly created role of global head of strategy. He will also be a member of the group management committee. Van Steenis will join in the fourth quarter of 2016, having most recently been at Morgan Stanley. He will report to Peter Harrison, Schroders’ group chief executive. The asset manager has also made three hires for its US credit team: David Knutson joins as head of credit research, Americas, Eric Skelton as US credit trader, and Chris Eger as portfolio manager, a newly created role.
QIC – Paul Nicholson will be joining the Australian institutional investment manager as director for global fixed income and absolute return. He will be based in London, reporting to Susan Buckey, managing director, global liquid strategies. Nicholson joins from Vontobel Asset Management, Zurich, where he was head of fixed income absolute return.
Woodman Asset Management – Pascal Boeuf has been appointed head of equities at the specialist investment firm, joining from UBS Asset Management. At Woodman he will be a senior portfolio manager responsible for equity investment solutions, reporting to Torben Degn, chief investment officer. Boeuf joined UBS in 2003, and before that at a boutique asset management group that he co-founded with former colleagues from SalomonSmithBarney.
Kames Capital – David Ennett has been appointed head of high yield while Phil Milburn returns as head of fixed income investment strategy after a period of ill health. Ennett was more recently at Standard Life Investments, as head of European high yield.
Fisch Asset Management – Stephanie Zwick has been promoted to head of convertible bonds and Filip Adamec joins as portfolio manager, from Muzinich & Co in London. Zwick has been at the Swiss asset manager for more than six years, most recently as senior portfolio manager.
Aries Insight – The UK technical pensions legislation specialist has hired Dave King as pensions technical consultant, who was previously at Mercer for 20 years and before that a consultant with The Pensions Trust.
JLT Employee Benefits – Tony Pike joins the consultancy as head of sales for the investment consulting business. He joins from Willis Towers Watson, where he was head of UK sales and business development in the institutional investment practice. Before that he was at P-Solve, now part of the River and Mercantile group.
BMO Global Asset Management – Alfredo Uras has been hired as sales executive, supporting distribution across institutional and wholesale channels in Italy. He will report to Giampaolo Giannelli, head of sales for Italy, and joins from Pioneer Investments, where he worked for more than 10 years.
