GLOBAL - Aon Benfield, Edmond de Rothschild Asset Management, Goldman Sachs Asset Management, LBB-Invest, Pantheon, Syz Asset Management
Aon Benfield - Mike Van Slooten joins as head of the international research team. He joins from Guy Carpenter, where he was head of the market information team.
Edmond de Rothschild Asset Management - Maria Kahane joins as deputy marketing director. A chartered financial analyst, Kahane holds degrees from both Sorbonne University and Paris Dauphine. In her new role, she will be in charge of product engineering and requests for proposals.
Goldman Sachs Asset Management - Philip Read, current chair of the British Coal Staff Superannuation Scheme (BCSSS) and former chairman of the investment committee for Metal Box Trustees, has been hired as senior advisor to global portfolio solutions (GPS). In his new part-time role, he will report to Charles Baillie, co-head of alternative investments and GPS, while retaining his role at BCSSS.
LBB-Invest - Joachim Mädler, current head of the management board for the asset management group, will retire in December. Andrea Daniela Bauer will take his place, joining from the Berlin Federal State Bank (LBB). Prior to joining LBB, Bauer worked for Commerzbank. Andreas Heß and Dyrk Vieten will retain their positions on the board, while Mädler will continue to consult.
Pantheon - The company has appointed Kevin Albert as partner and global head of business development. Albert has spent almost a quarter century at Merrill Lynch and joined Elevation Partners in 2005 as managing director. He will be based in the company's New York office and sit on its executive committee.
Syz Asset Management - Patrick Bédat has been named the company's first chief executive, starting Monday. Bédat, who trained as a lawyer, began his career at Pictet & Cie and has since worked at Banque Cantonale de Neuchâtel and UBS. He joins Syz from Banque Bonhôte & Cie.
