GLOBAL - BlackRock, UBS, Man Group, AD-VANCED, Institutional Investors Group on Climate Change
BlackRock - Paul Bucksey has joined as head of defined contribution business development and client management, based in London. He joins from Friends Life Corporate Benefits, where he was head of new business development and responsible for selling and implementing Friends Life's UK corporate benefits proposition. He has also led business development teams and programmes at Fidelity International, PricewaterhouseCoopers and IFG Group.
UBS - Philip Lofts, chief executive at UBS Group Americas, has resumed his role as UBS's chief risk officer. Lofts was CRO between November 2008 and December 2010, becoming chief executive at UBS Group Americas in January. He replaces Maureen Miskovic, group CRO since the beginning of this year. Robert McCann will replace Lofts at Group Americas in addition to his current role as chief executive of Wealth Management Americas, while Ulrich Körner will become chief executive at UBS Group Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Man Group - Ruud Hendriks, a non-executive director, will be appointed as non-executive chairman of Man's institutional department and step down from the board. He was previously managing director and co-head of sales for Europe, Middle East and Africa at Goldman Sachs and global head of institutional sales at Dutch asset manager Robeco.
AD-VANCED - Klaudius Sobczyk has joined German asset manager AD-VANCED Dynamic Asset Management as a board member. Together with two other colleagues from the German Veritas Investment Trust - Marc Sattler and Thorsten Winkler - he had founded the new ETF fund-of-funds manager in September this year. Until now, Sattler had headed the company alone. Winkler is still under contract at Veritas and will be joining his two former colleagues from January.
Institutional Investors Group on Climate Change (IIGCC) - Donald MacDonald - a trustee director of the BT Pensions Scheme and a former chairman of the UN Principles for Responsible Investment - has been appointed chairman. He was appointed a trustee of BTPS in 1998 and previously served as a director of BT Quest (BT Qualifying Employee Shares Trust) as an employee representative. At IIGCC, he takes over from Ole Beier Sørensen, appointed chairman in May 2009.
