Towers Watson - Nico Aspinall has been appointed head of the consultancy's UK defined contribution (DC) investment business. A Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries, Aspinall joins after four years at the Barclays Bank UK Retirement Fund, where he was an associate director for DC and communications. Before then, he served as a consultant with Deloitte.
Industriens Pension - Jukka Pertola has been appointed as a member of the trustee board at Industriens Pensionsforsikring, the pensions unit of the Danish labour-market pension scheme. He is managing director of Siemens A/S, the local arm of the electronics group. Pertola takes over from Carl Christian Ægidius, who decided to step down after being on the trustee board since 2004.
MN - Jef Janssens has recently started as senior client portfolio manager at Rijswijk-based asset manager MN, where he is responsible for investment strategies and portfolio construction. Previously, Janssens was senior investment manager at ING Investment Management in Brussels and The Hague.
Broadstone Pensions & Investments - Vijay Shah has been appointed as actuarial services director in the corporate benefits division, joining from Punter Southall. Sheena Freestone has been appointed as investment consulting director, joining from P-Solve Asset Solutions, while Kara Howlett has been appointed an actuarial consultant. She joins from the Government Actuary's Department.
Four Capital Partners - Angus Scrace has been hired in an institutional business development role. He joins from Macquarie Investment Management, where he was responsible for UK consultant relations. Before then, he worked at Threadneedle, Aviva and Fidelity.
Mercer - Nigel Carter has joined the consultancy as a partner and client manager. He joins from Independent Ltd, where he served as head of executive search. Before then, he worked for Crédit Agricole and Swiss Bank Corporation.
