GLOBAL - ABN AMRO, ATP, Investec Asset Management, Baring Asset Management, Olivetree Financial Group.
ABN AMRO Pension Fund - Cees Dert has stepped down as director of the Dutch ABN AMRO fund after five years. In total, Dert has spent 17 years at ABN AMRO, with a decade at its asset management division from 1996 onwards and has, concurrently with his role at ABN AMRO Pension Fund, sat on a number of pension fund boards, including that of KLM. He is to take a sabbatical before deciding on his next career move.
ATP - Lars Rohde, current chief executive of Denmark's largest pension fund, has been named as the new governor of Denmark's central bank. Rohde, CEO of the DKK754 (€101bn) ATP Group since 1998, will assume his new role in February next year.
Baring Asset Management - Christopher Mahon has joined the investment management company as director of asset allocation research, reporting to Percival Stanion, head of the global multi asset group and chairman of the strategic policy group. Mahon, who will be based in London, will start his new role in September. At Baring, he will provide strategic recommendations for asset allocation to the multi asset team as well as sitting on the strategic policy group, the company's global macro research and asset allocation committee.
Investec Asset Management - In a second multi-asset appointment, the firm has hired Michael Spinks for its global multi-asset team. Spinks, who joins from Schroders where he spent seven years, most recently as co-manager of its £4.5bn (€5.6bn) Diversified Growth Fund, will head the UK-based Investec team, working with Philip Saunders, global head of multi-asset investments. The appointment at Investec follows another similar move at Barings.
Olivetree Financial Group - The equity brokerage and technology company has appointed Charlotte Wall to managing director and global head of product sales in London and New York. Wall will start her new role on 1 November and will head up global sales of Olivetree Solutions' OTAS platform to buy-side institutions, including asset managers and hedge funds. She joins from Markit Securities Finance.
