Syntrus Achmea
– The Dutch pensions provider has appointed Margreet Oostenbrink as director of pension management as of 1 January. She will succeed Dries de Bruin, who has filled the job on a temporary basis since the departure of Bert Pont in 2010. Currently, Oostenbrink is director of process & change management at Syntrus Achmea. Prior to this role, she has held several management positions at Rabobank.

Towers WatsonAlessandra Pasquoni has joined the consultancy from Italy's €3.5bn Cassa di Previdenza Dottori Commercialisti (CNPADC), has head of its investment business. At CNPADC, Pasquoni was head of investment in charge of strategic and tactical asset allocation decisions. Prior to this, she spent five years at Pioneer Investment Management in Dublin, where she also studied. Towers Watson has also made two senior appointments to its regional offices in the UK. Martin Knight and Andrew Cashmore have joined the north of England and Scotland defined contribution team from Aon Hewitt and Buck Consultants, respectively.

MercerGerald Moritz, joint managing director at Mercer Austria, will be leaving the company at the end of January next year. Moritz joined Mercer in October 2011 after having left the board at competitor Towers Watson Austria. Moritz confirmed to IPE that he has chosen to leave to "pursue other challenges" but declined to give further details.

BNY Mellon
Katarina Melvan has joined the executive board of BNY Mellon Service KAG in Germany. Previously managing director and head of operations at the company's asset servicing division, Melvan will now oversee fund accounting, risk controlling and compliance. She joined BNY in 2007 and has worked for a number of global custodians in the past.

BNP Paribas Investment Partners
Christian Petter has assumed additional responsibility as chief executive of the company's activities in Germany. Petter is now responsible for Austria, Germany and Central and Eastern Europe.

Ignis Asset Management
– Joining from Generali Investments, Roger de Passe has been named regional director of European sales, Belelux. Prior to joining Ignis, de Passe was head of institutional sales at Generali's Luxembourg subsidiary and has spent eight years in various roles at Axa.

Alpinvest Partners
Nadim Barakat has joined the $44bn (€34bn) private equity manager AlpInvest Partners, as NewYork-based managing partner in its Investment Solutions team. Prior to joining AlpInvest, Barakat was managing director and chief investment officer at the Credit Suisse Customized Fund Investment Group. In this role he managed the group's investment process, as well as separate accounts that made fund investments, seasoned primary investments and co-investments across private equity, real estate and infrastructure for large institutional investors.

DeloitteJon Pumfleet will oversee investment management within the company, joining its investment management directive. Prior to joining Deloitte, Pumfleet was head of technology risk at Threadneedle Asset Management.
