GLOBAL – The Pensions Regulator, VvV, Royal London, Aberdeen Asset Management, BNY Mellon
The Pensions Regulator – Andrew Long has been appointed chair of the regulator's Determinations Panel, of which he has been a member since 2011. Long is also currently acting chair of the Regulatory Decisions Committee at the FSA and is a judge of the First Tier Tax Tribunal. He will take up his position at TPR in April 2013. The current chair, John Scampion, will stand down in April after serving his second term of office.
VvV – The board of the Dutch Association of Insurers has nominated Marco Keim as its new chairman. Keim is chief executive at insurer Aegon and has been a board member of the VvV since 2008. He is to succeed Ronald Latenstein, chief executive at SNS Reaal, who will step down after chairing the VvV for two years.
Royal London – Rupert Pennant-Rea is to succeed Tim Melville-Ross as non-executive chairman in May 2013, when Melville-Ross will retire and Pennant-Rea step down as non-executive chairman at Henderson Group. Pennant-Rea is a former deputy governor of the Bank of England and editor of the Economist. He will join the board with immediate effect.
Aberdeen Asset Management – Ken Tooze has joined as a senior institutional business development manager, arriving from Nomura Asset Management, where he focused on the UK institutional market. Stuart Ives has joined as a senior consultant relations manager, arriving from JO Hambro, where he held a similar role.
BNY Mellon – Karen Peetz is to become president, while Timothy Keaney has been named chief executive of investment services. Brian Shea has been appointed president of investment services and head of global operations and technology. Peetz is currently vice-chairman and chief executive of financial markets and treasury services, while Keaney is currently vice-chairman and chief executive of asset servicing.
