GLOBAL – European Securities and Markets Authority, Forca, Pension Protection Fund, Redington, Publica, Old Mutual Global Investors, Pensions Policy Institute, The Pensions Trust, Royal London Asset Management
European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) – Gérard Rameix has been appointed a member of the management board. Rameix, who is chairman of the French Autorité des Marchés Financiers, replaces Kurt Pribil from Austria's Finanzmarktaufsicht (FMA). ESMA's management board, chaired by Steven Maijoor, now consists of Rameix; Karl-Burkhard Caspari of Germany's BaFin; Jean Guill of Luxembourg's Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier; Raul Malmstein of Estonia's Finantsinspektsioon; Julie Galbo of Denmark's Finanstilsynet; and Martin Wheatley of the UK's FSA.
Forca – Steen Gram-Hanssen has been appointed managing director of joint Danish pensions administrator Forca, having been acting managing director since October last year. He replaces Jes Damsted, who left the role in October. Forca is owned by three Danish labour-market pension funds – Lærernes Pension, PKA and Pædagogernes Pensionskasse. Gram-Hanssen has been at Forca since 2007 as CFO, responsible for finance, accounting and fund administration. Before that, he was finance manager at pension fund PFA.
Pension Protection Fund (PPF) – Malcolm Weir has been appointed head of restructuring and insolvency, replacing Richard Favier, who is to step down in July. Weir is currently head of corporate insolvency at Barclays Corporate. He has 30 years' experience, previously holding roles in restructuring, reorganisation and corporate recovery at Deloitte and predecessor firms to KPMG.
Redington – David Bennett has been promoted to the newly created role of head of investment consulting. He was previously managing director in the investment consulting team and has been running a portfolio of clients for Redington since January 2010. Bennett will maintain his role as lead investment consultant, while managing the rest of the 16-strong investment consulting team.
Publica – Switzerland's largest public pension fund is aiming to hire a new head of asset management division by the end of next month. Earlier this month, the CHF35bn (€28bn) Pensionskasse for federal public employees and civil servants announced that Susanne Haury von Siebenthal would be leaving as head of asset management in June.
Old Mutual Global Investors – Industry veteran Richard Buxton has been appointed head of UK equities, joining from Schroders. He will now be responsible for managing Old Mutual's UK equity team. Ashton Bradbury, who has managed the team for more than three years, will report to Buxton. Fund manager Errol Francis will also join the company from Schroders, working together with Buxton.
Pensions Policy Institute (PPI) – Niki Cleal is to step down as director in June after seven years in the role. She is to retain an "ongoing connection" with the PPI as a governor. Before joining the PPI in 2006, Cleal worked for HM Treasury and the NHS Executive in a variety of economist and policy roles. The PPI is currently conducting a search for her successor.
The Pensions Trust – Jennifer Anderson has been appointed investment officer. She joins from Citi Investment Research & Analysis, where she was responsible for publishing SRI research for European clients. Before then, she worked at Jupiter Asset Management on the SRI and governance team.
Royal London Asset Management (RLAM) – Head of equities Jane Coffey has left the company after 11 years. Coffey had been promoted to the position in 2003, having previously been responsible for the UK equity retail team. RLAM said it would not find a replacement for her role.
