GLOBAL – State Street Corporation, Environment Agency Pension Fund, Schroders, Amundi, Vanguard Investments Switzerland, Kempen Capital Management, Loyalis
State Street Corporation – Markus Steiner has been appointed head of State Street's business in Switzerland and will assume his role on 1 July. Following a transition period, current managing director René Charrière will assume a senior relationship management role for select Swiss-based accounts. Steiner joins from UBS Fund Management Switzerland, which he headed for more than 13 years.
Environment Agency Pension Fund (EAPF) – Dawn Turner has been appointed head of environmental finance and pension fund management. She succeeds Howard Pearce, who will retire, stepping down on 30 April. Turner has worked at the EAPF for 14 years and is a chartered management accountant. Pearce said he would probably "un-retire" in the autumn, as he hoped to find new challenges for his ESG experience.
Schroders – Daniel Morris joins as LDI solutions manager, while Lef Sigalos joins the Schroders Independent Group Risk team as an investment risk manager. Both are newly created senior positions. Sigalos joins from F&C Asset Management, where he undertook a number of senior positions over the past 10 years. Morris has a similar amount of experience at Towers Watson and AON Hewitt.
Amundi – Laurent Guillet has been appointed chief executive of Amundi's London branch. The branch has been under the responsibility of Laurent Crosnier since October 2010, who held the dual role of chief executive and CIO. Guillet will take on his responsibilities on 1 June, subject to regulatory approval, while maintaining his role as chief executive at Amundi Alternative Investments, which he has held since May 2011.
Vanguard Investments Switzerland – Peter Ritler has joined as senior institutional sales executive, now responsible for developing the company's institutional client base next to Jacques-Etienne Doerr and Rula Schönberge. Ritler, who will be based in Zurich and is responsible for the company's ETFs and index fund offerings, joins after six years at Threadneedle Investments as senior sales manager. Prior to this, he worked as a portfolio manager at Bank Leu.
Kempen Capital Management – Igor Puljic and Marjoleine van der Peet have been appointed to the hedge funds team in Amsterdam. Puljic joins as a senior portfolio manager from Key Asset Management, where he was deputy CIO and portfolio manager. Van der Peet, who will hold a similar role, joins from GAM, where she was a senior investment analyst and senior portfolio manager.
Loyalis – Peter van Wageningen has started as chief executive of Loyalis, the subsidiary of pensions provider APG for additional pension insurance. He succeeds Joop Kanen, who had been in the job on an interim basis, tasked with formulating a new corporate strategy. During the past 10 years, Van Wageningen, has been chief executive at funeral insurer Yarden.
