EUROPE - Geoffrey Furlonger, who joined Aon Consulting Worldwide from Lombard International Assurance last month, will now head the new EU practice in Belgium.

"I am looking forward to developing the EU Practice at Aon Consulting and providing or growing European client base with innovative solutions," Furlonger was quoted in a press release.

"Pension arrangements are a vital issue for company boards with operations in the region as they grapple with complex cross-border benefit and investment issues."

Prior to his position at Lombard International Assurance Furlonger had been head of Mercers' EU practice.

Meanwhile, Simon Stead left his position as third party pensions administration department in Aon's Leeds office to join the Pensions Trust as pensions administration manager. He will be responsible for managing the Leeds Pensions Administration Team. Norton Howden from the Aon Leeds office took over Stead's position.

The Pensions Trust also appointed Paul Milton as account manager. He will develop relations with the Trust's clients. Milton joins from Capita Hartshead where he was Pensions Operations Manager, the Pensions Trust said.
