FRANCE - Global Asset Management (GAM) has appointed Joanna Thompson as a director for Europe, a newly created position with specific responsibility of promoting GAM’s institutional operation in the French-speaking regions of Europe.

In addition, Thompson, who will be based in London, will work closely with UBS Asset Management in the development of the group’s sales and marketing activities in Geneva, France and the Benelux region.

Joanna joins from Fortis in Paris where she was head of institutional marketing support and client services. She has some 20 years experience in investment marketing and sales.

David Duncan, director - institutional division, comments: “We are delighted that Joanna has joined us. She has a wealth of industry experience, which will undoubtedly prove extremely valuable in expanding our institutional business in Europe.”
