SPAIN- Gartmore has recruited Victoria Huerta from Royal Sun Alliance Investment Management as head of its first office in Spain, due to open later this month.

Huerta joins as head of sales, Iberia, and is responsible for developing business with Spanish institutional investors and bancassurance distributors. In her previous role, she was sales director for both retail and institutional funds.

Gartmore says the Spanish office will offer a few investment products including a number of actively managed mutual funds and some alternative investment products.

It is looking for a client service manager at the moment and a spokeswoman says the Madrid office will grow to around five in the near future.
