UK – Goldman Sachs has confirmed it has hired Morgan Stanley European pension executive Jeroen van Bezooyen.

“He is joining us,” said Goldman Sachs spokeswoman Rebecca Nelson. He joins in March as an executive director of Goldman’s European pension and insurance strategy group, based in London.

Van Bezooyen was formerly vice president of Morgan Stanley’s European Pensions Group, based in London. The group advises governments and pension funds.

Goldman Sachs’ asset management arm said recently that it expected to see an increase in liability-based mandates.

“Increasingly pension fund trustees and consultants are looking to fund managers to provide asset liability solutions and we therefore envisage demand for mandates with liability-based benchmarks,” said Goldman Sachs Asset Management.
