GLOBAL – Corporate governance firm Institutional Shareholder Services has named Randall Hancock as general manager of its global research business unit.

“Hancock, a seasoned veteran with more than 15 years of research and advisory leadership, will head the critical ISS business unit responsible for corporate governance policy, vote recommendations and thought leadership,” Maryland-based ISS said in a release.

He joins from computer firm IBM, where he was global leader of its Institute for Business Value, strategic research organization. He was also a partner in the IBM Business Consulting Services group.

“Randy is an outstanding leader with a great track record of driving demonstrable financial results and value to clients,” said ISS president and chief executive John Connolly.

“He will bring a new level of business practicality, sound thinking and global market expertise to our corporate governance research worldwide. He is also one of the best business strategists in the world, which will benefit ISS significantly as we accelerate our growth in the coming months and years.”

Hancock has also worked at Mainspring, Gemini Consulting, and the MAC Group.

ISS earlier named Diana Bourke as executive vice president and general manager of its institutional services business unit.
