UK - Law firm Hammonds says it has appointed Clifford Sims as senior pensions solicitor.
He joined the firm's London office earlier this month. It said he joins from Baker & McKenzie, where he was a senior associate in the pensions department.
"Hammonds' pensions department continues to go from strength to strength and Clifford is the sixth solicitor we have taken on since the beginning of this year," said Andrew Powell, Hammonds' head of pensions.
"Clifford's experience fully complements that of the existing team and with his financial services background, he is able to offer clients additional advice on the investment side of pensions."
He added: "Hammonds is able to fully service its clients' needs from all of its European offices and leads the front in terms of advising regional, national and international clients on complex contentious, non-contentious and transaction support pensions work."
Sims is a member of the investment sub-committee of the Association of Pension Lawyers. He was for some years the only lawyer member of the investment committee of the Society of Pension Consultants.
Sims said: "I am delighted to have joined Hammonds' pensions department which has an excellent reputation and I look forward to working with the team."
