UK – Wendy Hay, head of global equities at Edinburgh based Standard Life Investments has been poached by Aegon Asset Management UK to become its new chief investment officer (CIO) from October 1.
Hay will take overall responsibility for fund management and research at Aegon, and will join the company's executive team.
“Wendy will also play a key part in helping to expand our business, both domestically and internationally,” says Russell Hogan, managing director of Aegon Asset Management UK and the interim CIO until Hay joins the firm.
“ In the retail-fund market we have developed into one of the leading providers of investment funds to IFAs, while in the institutional pension fund market we are one of the UK’s leading fixed interest managers.
“ Wendy will help us build on these strengths and communicate them to a wide audience,” adds Hogan.
Aegon Asset Management manages assets in excess of £34bn and employs some 300 people at its Edinburgh head office. Hay will be based in Edinburgh and will lead a team of 70 investment professionals.
