GLOBAL - Hewitt Associates' chief information officer Perry Cliburn has left the company to join information services and human resources outsourcing firm Ceridian Corp.

Cliburn had been chief information officer since joining Hewitt in 1999. Before that he was with First Data Corp and Arthur Andersen.

His departure follows that of former chief executive Dale Gifford and other executives earlier this year. Last month the firm reported a net loss of $115.9m (€90.1m) for the 2006 fiscal year.

"Perry's experience and expertise with technology infrastructure in the HR industry will assist us with delivering repeatable and reliable service to our customers," said Ceridian's chief executive Kathyrn Marinello.

Cliburn has bachelor and masters degrees from Mississippi State University.

Ceridian serves businesses and employees in the US, Canada and Europe.
