UK – Friends Ivory & Sime (FIS) has appointed Peter Hewitt as director of global equities in its fund management team in London.

In addition to being responsible for the managed portfolio service and working on the investment trust fund of fund portfolio, Hewitt will manage the new ISIS Progressive Growth Fund to be launched on October 29. The new fund will be invested in investment trust zero dividend preference shares.

Hewitt moves in-house from his previous position where he was responsible for establishing and developing a network of private client stockbrokers and fund managers within the investment trust area.

Hewitt joined FIS from Murray Johnstone, where he spent two years as head of UK equities.
