IRELAND – Hewitt & Becketts is bolstering its investment consultancy business in Ireland, with the appointment of Evelyn Ryder.

Ryder joins Hewitt as an investment consultant and will be based in Dublin. She will be the first Dublin-based investment consultant and will work closely with David Hager, also an investment consultant, who is predominantly based in the UK.

A spokeswoman for Hewitt said that it is expected that a team of investment consultants in Dublin will be built up.

Prior to joining Hewitt, Ryder was an investment consultant for Watson Wyatt in Dublin and the UK.

Hewitt Bacon & Woodrow, acquired Becketts, a specialist Irish employee benefits consultancy in August, changing the name to Hewitt & Becketts. The firm has Irish offices in Dublin and Cork.

Consultants Mercer also announced an appointment today. Robert Ivey joins Mercer Human Resource Consulting as a European Partner. Based in London, he has assumed a leadership role in developing Mercer's executive wealth consulting services. He was previously principal and head of financial planning at Towers Perrin.
