UK – The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals has awarded a three-year contract to Capita Hartshead to administer its defined benefit pension scheme, resulting in a loss for incumbent Hewitt Bacon & Woodrow.
“Following a competitive tender the RSPCA has appointed Capita Hartshead, the UK’s largest specialist pensions administrator, to administrate the charity’s pension scheme,” Capita said.
Capital added that the 2,300-member plan would now be run out of its Leeds office. It said: “The trustees decided not to remain with the current providers, Hewitt Bacon & Woodrow.”
“The RSPCA scheme trustees selected Capita Hartshead after a detailed and thorough review,” said Mark Watts, the RSPCA’s director of support services. “We look forward to working together to provide the service levels which the employer and members need.”
“We are delighted to have secured this significant contract and look forward to working closely with the RSPCA in years to come,” said Capita marketing director Stuart Heatley.
“We shall endeavour to ensure that the highest quality of service is delivered to the scheme and its members.” Hewitt spokespeople were not available.
