UK - HSBC Asset Management has appointed Legal & General’s Simon Sharp and Lazard Asset Management’s Angus Parker as senior European equity portfolio managers in London.
Parker joined on August 23. The asset manager said he had 10 years experience of investment management, gained at Lazard Asset management in London and New York, where he was responsible for the management of pan-European equities portfolios.
Sharp joins on September 20 as senior fund manager for European Equities.
Sharp and Parker join a team of over 50 European equity investment staff and report to Jeff Currington, head of European equities operating in London, Paris and Dusseldorf.
Dean Buckley, chief executive officer of HSBC AM in the UK, said: “The development of European equities is of great importance to our global business.”
Buckley said HSBC AM would pay ‘particular attention’ to attracting retail and institutional assets in both mainstream and innovative pan-European products.
The asset manager, Buckley said, manages over 40 billion dollars (32.4 billion euros) in European equities and aims to ‘grow significantly’ in the coming years.
