UK – HSBC Asset Management in the UK has appointed Colin Cookson as head of business development for the Group’s corporate and institutional client base.
Cookson will lead the company’s money market fund distribution efforts, and will work closely with HSBC’s corporate banking teams. He will report to Cynthia Sweeney Barnes, head of group business development and liquidity products.
Cookson joins HSBC Asset Management from Mellon Global Investments where he was vice president and head of insurance and liquidity asset management for five years.
The role at HSBC AM has been newly created. Says Dean Buckley, chief executive officer of the UK division of the company: “Money market funds are an important product line for HSBC’s corporate and institutional customers, and a rapidly growing part of our assets under management.”
HSBC AM’s money market fund range includes Liquidity Funds and Liquidity Plus Funds in sterling, euros and US dollars.
Funds under management for HSBC AM total 164.1 billion dollars.
