UK – HSBC Global Investor Services (GIS), the financial services group’s global custody division, has appointed Mike Martin as its new head. He replaces Steve Crockford, who is leaving in August to pursue a career outside the financial services industry.

Martin is currently deputy head of HSBC Global Fund Services (GFS), the group’s investment administration and performance consultancy operation, which he helped establish since joining the company four years ago.

Says Crockford, who has been with HSBC for 31 years: “I will be leaving GIS in Mike’s capable hands. With over 22 years experience in the securities services business, he is well-placed to position GIS and GFS to deliver a service which continues to meet our client’s needs, particularly across Europe.”

GIS has over 1,000 clients with global assets under custody of more than $1trn (€1.1trn).
