GERMANY - The Activest group, Germany’s sixth largest fund manager and the investment arm of HVB, has made changes at senior level following the departure of two of its executives.
Armin Lang becomes head of global equities, replacing Thomas Meyer who at the end of 2002 left Activest Investmentgesellschaft to become managing director of sister company, Indexchange.
Prior to joining Activest, Lang worked as an investment analyst at the US asset management firm Eaton Vance and has also worked at Commerzbank Investment Management.
Ulrich Binninger has also been appointed to replace Wielan Thyssen as head of Activest Investmentgesellschaft Luxembourg. Binninger was formerly employed at GKS Gesellschaft and DIT.
Finally, Conrad Matten becomes the new chief economist at Activest, joining from DEKA Investment.
The Activest group has around 50 billion euros in assets under management. Over 30 billion euros are managed on behalf on institutional clients.
