UK- Actuarial and consulting firm Hymans Robertson has appointed Clare Gardner and Vince McEntegart as co-heads of manager research.

The pair replace George Henshilwood who is giving up his role of acting head of manager research. Henshilwood took over temporarily from the previous head of manager research Alan Bartlett who left for Aon last August.

The pair come from the investment practice of Hymans Robertson but have both been involved in manager selection. Both will also retain some client responsibility in the new post meaning the role is a combination of investment consulting and research.

McEntegart says there is a need to expand the coverage of managers and products. “Changes in strategy across our client base are leading to demand for new and different mandates. However, there is little point designing structures which cannot be translated into practical mandates.”

Responsibilities will be split between the two and both will continue to report within the framework of the Manager Review Group which has ultimate responsibility for grading managers and products.
