UK – Consulting actuaries Hymans Robertson has named seven new partners, bring the total number of partners to 27.

Among the appointments is Robert Inglis, who has been recruited from rival firm Mercer Human Resource Consulting. Inglis, who was also a member of the Inland Revenue’s pensions simplification team, joins as a partner and senior actuary in the London office.

“We are fortunate to have someone with Robert’s experience joining us,” said senior partner Ronnie Bowie. “His knowledge from working with the government will be a great asset to our business.”

Current staff promoted to partner include: Cameron Caskie, Bryan Chalmers, Richard Crowhurst, John Dickson, Paul Potter and Clare Scott.

Caskie is responsible for research while Chalmers works in the firm’s local government actuarial team. Crowhurst is a scheme actuary and Dickson is practice manager at Hyman’s investment practice. Potter is involved in investment consulting and Scott is operations manager for the firm’s investment practice.

“This year, as previously, the appointments reflect the continued successful growth of the firm,” Bowie said. “They also represent a very meaningful commitment to the further strengthening of our senior resources across our consultancy and actuarial practices.”

Hymans is part of the Milliman Global network, which was joined recently by Swiss consulting firm Allea.

Elsewhere, UK-based employee benefits firm PIFC Consulting has named a new actuarial director and head of occupational pensions. Peter Crutchett was formerly a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
