US/UK – Barclays Global Investors (BGI) have announced the appointments of Blake Grossman and Andrew Skirton as Co-Global CEOs of BGI following the decision of Patricia Dunn to step down as Global CEO.
Dunn’s decision was taken in order to focus on treatment and recovery from breast cancer. She will, however, continue with the firm in a non-executive capacity as Vice Chairman of BGI.
Prior to his appointment, Grossman was CIO of the firm’s global active business, responsible for the growth and performance of its active strategies.
Skirton was previously Co-CEO of BGI’s global index & markets group with overall responsibility for indexing, securities lending, transition services and cash management.
Commenting on Ms Dunn’s decision, Matthew Barrett, chief executive of parent company Barclays, said that under her leadership BGI had distinguished itself as a unique global asset management firm.
