UK – Asset manager Insight has hired a top executive from Edinburgh Fund Managers to head its 1.7 million pound (2.5 billion euro) multi-manager business.
The HBOS arm said in a statement that it has hired Nigel Wittingham as managing director of its multi-manager business. The move was “in line with its strategic ambitions to grow its multi-manager business - of both a conventional and alternative nature - for retail and institutional clients”.
Wittingham, 48, is currently group business development director at Edinburgh Fund Managers and is expected to join Insight in May.
He will report to deputy chief executive Gary Mairs and his direct reports will include Bambos Hambi, head of wealth management, Simon Shaw, head of speciality funds and Rhonda Ryan, head of alternative investments.
Mairs said: "Nigel is a gifted and proven business leader with a real understanding of the multi-manager business - the successful 600 million pound Edinburgh Portfolio Business is part of his current remit.
“We are delighted that Nigel shares our vision and is keen to develop the Insight Investment multi-manager business which will be built around the strategic platform of the existing 1.7 billion pound multi-manager business of Insight."
