UK - Insight Investment says it has named Mark Burgess from American Express Asset Management as head of equities.

It said that Burgess, chief investment officer at Amex AM, is expected to join in March 2004 and that he will report to Insight’s CIO Abdallah.

Burgess, 41, would have responsibility for Insight's equity investment research and management across all markets. American Express Co. recently bought Threadneedle Investments from Zurich Financial Services for 482 million euros.
