IPE is proud to announce the completion of the first stage of our Awards for European Pension Funds, with the declaration of the results of the judging panels at national levels. We now publish the details of the Country Leaders award winners.
After a process involving over 60 judges across Europe, the 25 Country Leaders Awards Winners representing pension funds in 13 countries have been decided and we list these according to the category in which they won in their country. We offer these funds our warmest congratulations and thank the national judges for the time and effort they dedicated to their task of electing the winners.
The next stage takes place in Brussels on 27 November, when the IPE-Awards Dinner will be held. At this gala event the 25 Country Leaders will receive their IPE-Awards for Investment Strategy and/ or for Fund Structure & Administration, in front of an audience of their peers in Europe and many industry leaders at an occasion that promises to be glittering.
The highlight of the evening will be the announcement and presentation of the European Leaders Awards. These pension funds will be selected from the Country Leader Award winners, again under the headings of Investment Strategy and Fund Structure & Administration and judged by a specially assembled panel.
At the time of going to press, over 75 pension funds have confirmed their intentions to attend this prestigious occasion to celebrate the worthy winners at both national and European level.
IPE will be hosting the Pensions Future Forum as a special event on the afternoon of the IPE-Awards Dinner at the same Hotel Le Plaza venue. This will take the form of interactive panel discussions designed to avail of the opportunity when so many key pensions figures from across Europe come together in Brussels.
These sessions will comprise two one-hour discussions at which the high-level panels will discuss issues with the audience of invited pension funds and others.
The first session – The Big Picture – will examine the major issues facing European pensions, such as the implications of legislative reform, the pensions directive, the future of funding and the trend to defined contribution.
The second session – Investing: Where Now? – will focus on the issues facing pension fund portfolios in the current turbulent climate and on the longer term strategic questions regarding asset allocation, risk management and returns, that are confronting those responsible for pension fund assets.
Active participation from the audience will be a key feature of these discussions.
Eligible pension funds are welcome to attend both the Pensions Future Forum and the IPE Awards Dinner free of charge and may also qualify for hotel accommodation and travel assistance. However, there are limitations on space, so to discuss your eligibility and the availability of the offer, please contact Tony Hay by telephone on +44 (0)20 7261 0666 or email tony.hay@ipeonline.com
