ITALY – The foundation for the development of the Italian pensions market (Mefop) has appointed a new board of directors, with members from the country’s largest pension funds.
Marcello Messori, professor at Tor Vergata University has been reappointed president of the foundation.
Maurizio Agazzi represents the largest sector-wide fund Cometa, the scheme for mechanical and metal workers, while Nicola Messina sits on the board for Fonchim, the pension fund for chemical and pharmaceutical workers.
They are joined by Alessandro Ruggini of Previambiente, the environmental sector pension fund and Raffaele Capuano and Roberto Ulissi from the state treasury.
The board is completed by Gennaro Pieralisi.
At the same time, Vito Branca was appointed president of the board of auditors, with Guido Paolucci and Sergio Scibetta nominated as the other two members.
