NETHERLANDS - Jacob de Wit has been appointed chairman of the board at the €42bn SNS Asset Management, rejoining the company after a seven year absence.
De Wit, 39, will succeed board member Dick Okhuijsen, who is acting as interim chairman, on 1 October,
The new chairman, will also become member of the management committee of the €124bn bancassurer SNS Reaal, his new employer indicated.
Currently, De Wit, 39, is head of fixed income at F&C Asset Management and member of the executive committee of F&C, which he joined in 2005.
Earlier, he was head of fixed income at SNS Asset Management and insurer AXA, after a brief period as director at SNS Asset Management.
"De Wit brings much knowledge and experience in asset management," commented Dick Okhuijsen, who is responsible for the insurance activities and asset management at SNS AM.
He added that, with the appointment of De Wit, the management team of SNS Asset Management is now complete.
The appointment of Jacob de Wit is subject to approval by the central employees council of the company.
SNS AM is the asset manager of SNS Reaal, manager of the portfolios of Reaal, SNB Bank, SNB Investments Funds, SNS Investments Funds and Zwitserleven Investment Funds.
It claims to be a specialist in responsible institutional asset management, and offers expertise as a manager of pension funds' assets through Zwitserleven Asset Management which merged with SNS AM last year.
