EUROPE – JPMorgan Asset Management (JPMAM) has named Jens Schmitt as head of institutional business in Europe, replacing Peter Schwicht.
Schmitt was formerly head of German institutional business.
The new appointment was finalised two weeks ago. It excludes the UK.
Schmitt joined JPMAM almost seven years ago as head of equities and fixed income for Germany. Prior to this he was with Matuschka and Merck Fink in Germany, where he worked in investment management, and equity management and institutional marketing respectively.
Schwicht, who started at JPMAM in 1987, also headed up all business in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. According to a JPMAM press statement released today, he will continue in this position and focus his efforts on these areas.
