SWEDEN – Julius Baer Group is to open its first office in the Nordic countries in the middle of the year - expanding its brokerage operations to a base in Stockholm.
The company says it has been attracted to the region by the excellent long-term outlook of the markets and says the new office will provide international and Nordic institutional investors with brokerage services covering European and Nordic equities.
Magnus Oscarsson has been appointed managing director of the Nordic branch with Peter Bolz joining him as head of sales, as of April this year.
Julius Baer says it aims to have a staff of 30 in place by the year end.
The group will apply for membership of the OM Stockholm exchange and for remote membership of the exchanges in Copenhagen, Helsinki and Oslo.
