NORDIC REGION - Deutsche Asset Management (DeAM) has poached Steen Jørgensen from Schroder Investment Management to become the firm’s head of institutional sales for the Nordic region.
Deutsche says the appointed of Jørgensen – a veteran of the Nordic markets, is aimed at accelerating the company’s growth across Europe and in particular at demonstrating its commitment to its clients in the region.
Jørgensen spent eight years developing Schroders’ business in Sweden and Finland, prior to which he was at Amagerbanken in Copenhagen where he was head of the investment department.
In his new role he will be based in Stockholm.
DeAM already manages assets for Nordic-based clients although it does not have a branch in the region.
To date, the firm’s sales initiatives have been driven from London.
Jørgensen will report to Mark Scott, DeAM’s Head of European Institutional Sales and Marketing.
Speaking about the appointment, Scott said: “We are delighted to add someone of Steen’s calibre and expertise to our growing team. This further demonstrates the strength of our commitment to the European marketplace where over the past 18 months we have hired experienced salespeople in important markets like Austria, Ireland, Italy and Switzerland.”
