** Maguire to head SWIP global marketing **
Fiach Maguire joins Scottish Widows Investment Partnership as director of global marketing, with responsibilities for client service, marketing and new business development.
Maguire was recruited from Perpetual Investment Management Services, where he worked as pensions development director for the UK. He also chairs the pensions advisory group of the Association of unit trusts and investment funds
** Cresswell becomes VP at MSCI Europe **
Nigel Cresswell joins MSCI Europe as vice president, based in Frankfurt, covering European pension funds and consultants.
Ulrike Modersohn-Ludwig, joining from Deutsche Bank, will be responsible for coverage of asset managers and private banks in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
** Christiania Bank makes board appointments **
The supervisory board of Christiania Bank, recently taken over by Nordea group, has elected Hans Dahlborg as chairman and Tom Ruud as deputy chairman.
Baard Syrrist becomes managing director of the bank.
Thorleif Krarup was elected chairman of the board and Lars G Nordström as deputy chairman. Also, Markku Pohjola, Carl-Johan Granvik, Carl Erik Krefting, Kristin Clemet and Liv Irene Haug were elected as members of the board.
** Friends turn to Turner **
Mark Turner has been appointed senior portfolio manager at Friends Ivory & Sime Private Equity. Turner joins from Global Crossing, where he worked on the operational side of telecommunications.
** Desage-Bonnet to run F&C’s European equities **
Frederic Desage-Bonnet has been recruited as assistant director and investment manager of European equities at Foreign & Colonial Management. He joins from Credit Suisse Asset Management, where he was vice president of European equities.
** Adams fixed up at CSAM **
Kevin Adams has been appointed as director of UK fixed income at Credit Suisse Asset Management (CSAM).
Adams, formerly divisional director of government bonds at Henderson Investors, will be responsible for UK bond mandates and developing the group’s fixed income business.
** Royal Trust takes on Surrency for sales **
Richard Surrency has been promoted regional vice president of sales and relationship management for Europe and the Middle East at Royal Trust Global Securities Services. He moves to London from Hong Kong where he worked in a similar position covering Asia.
** Woodhouse gets Asia Pacific brief at Thomas Murray **
John Woodhouse joins the ratings and research company Thomas Murray as director for the Asia Pacific region - located in Hong Kong. Woodhouse, previously director of the New Zealand Central Securities Depository and chief manager of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand, will focus on research into the region’s capital market infrastructure and securities markets.
** Commerzbank consolidates pan-Asian team **
Commerzbank Securities has made four appointments to its pan-Asian structured finance team. Ross Antoci heads the team, Ricky May and Robert Ryan join as senior team members and Keiko Sakurai is appointed as an analyst. All four move from CIBC World Markets.
** Zanella to Watsons in Zurich **
Peter Zanella has been appointed as a senior consulting actuary at Watson Wyatt’s Zurich office.
Joining from KPMG, Zanella will advise clients on all aspects of pension funds.
** Callies called to STOXX committee **
Juergen Callies, of the Bayerische HypoVereinsbank, replaces Stephen Malinowski as a member of the STOXX advisory committee. Callies is the head of equity research at the bank. Malinowski of Merrill Lynch has completed his three-year term on the committee.
** Adveq adds Kessel as MD **
Peter Kessel is joining the management team of Swiss private equity house Adveq as its fourth managing director.
Kessel is currently vice president of services at the transmission business of Alstom.
** M&G takes interest in Williams **
Prudential M&G, the institutional arm of M&G, has made appointments to its institutional team. Jenny Williams, formerly at Pictet Asset Management, has been appointed as director of fixed interest. A further two new credit analysts and a portfolio manager will be recruited soon.
** Foster to Scottish Widows **
Tony Foster has been recruited as head of UK institutional business at Scottish Widows. He joins from Baillie Gifford. David Erskine, previously at Standard Life Investment, has been appointed as head of UK life and head of UK research. Graham Campbell joins as head of UK retail from Edinburgh Fund Managers.
** Aon develops with Dawson **
Ian Dawson has been promoted to the position of business development director at Aon Consulting, with responsibility for UK administrative, actuarial and human resources consulting.
