GLOBAL – ATP Private Equity Partners, Payden & Rygel, Lyxor Asset Management, AVS/AHV, Bpf Meubel, Punter Southall, Association of Investment Companies, Investec Asset Management
ATP Private Equity Partners (ATP PEP) – Rune Ulbak, vice-president at the private equity arm of Danish pension fund ATP, has moved to the partnership’s New York office. Ulbak has been with ATP PEP in Copenhagen since 2007. Christian Brønden, who has been with ATP PEP since 2006, is moving back to the Copenhagen office, having spent the last three years based in New York.
Payden & Rygel – Mark Stanley has joined the London office as portfolio director. He will be responsible for business development and client relationship management in Continental Europe and the UK, focusing on insurers, pension funds and consultants. Stanley joins from Mercer, where he was a partner, focusing on fiduciary management. Before then, he held senior positions at Wellington Management and Threadneedle Asset Management.
Lyxor Asset Management – David Keel has been appointed head of institutional asset management sales in German-speaking Switzerland. He joins from Barclays Capital Funds Solutions, where he was responsible for its Swiss institutional client business. From 2002, he has spent nine years with fund of hedge funds and commodity specialist Harcourt, where he acted as managing partner and head of business development.
AVS/AHV – Frank Juliano joined the Swiss fonds de compensation AVS at the end of last year as head of asset management. Juliano, who is based in Geneva, was previously head of portfolio management at Merrill Lynch. He has been a member of the examination commission within the Swiss Financial Analyst Association since 2010.
Bpf Meubel – Steeph Custers has been appointed employees chairman of the €2.2bn industry-wide pension fund for the furniture sector in the Netherlands on 1 February. He is to succeed GH Nieuwenhuis, who represented the employers. Currently, Custers is a board member at Bpf Meubel.
Punter Southall – Pension covenant specialist Lorant Porkolab and actuary Craig Wootton have been promoted to principal level. Porkolab is head of Punter Southall’s covenant advisory services. A qualified actuary, Wootton has more than 15 years’ experience in the pensions industry, primarily as a scheme actuary and corporate pensions adviser.
Association of Investment Companies (AIC) – William Hemmings, head of closed-end funds at Aberdeen Asset Management, has been elected to the board. Jeremy Tigue has retired from the board, following nine years of service. Andrew Bell has been elected chairman, and outgoing chairman Sarah Bates has been re-elected along with Melville Trimble. Peter Arthur and David Thorp have become deputy chairmen, joining deputy chairmen Gill Nott and Chris Russell.
Investec Asset Management – Charles Whall and Tom Nelson will become joint co-portfolio managers of Investec’s global energy portfolios. Both joined the company in September 2012 as energy investment specialists within the commodities and resources team.
