PwC - The consultancy has made a number of appointments to its UK pension advisory service. Chris Venables joins from Mercer, where he was an actuary and corporate pension adviser. Mark Hommel, head of pensions at the consultancy, said the arrival of Venables, reinforced its expertise in the utilities and infrastructure sectors.
Additionally, the company’s Leeds, London and Manchester offices have seen the appointments of nine new staff members. Matthew Smith and Dan Whincup join from Mercer and Towers Watson, respectively. Previously, Smith specialised in advising utility companies and public sector employers on pension challenges.The London office has grown with the addition of Stuart Foreman, Phil Gillmann and Stuart Merry from JLT Group, F&C Management and Capita Hartshead. Merry has previously focused on administration and advisor procurement exercises, pension administration system design and implementations, and data analysis and clean-up programmes. Additionally, Chetan Patel and Hasham Piperdy joined the team in London from Mercer and Hewitt. Finally, the Manchester office has seen the addition of Mark Cliff and Saqib Hussain from Deloitte and Towers Watson.
Riverside Company - Evelyne White has been appointed associate at the global private equity firm, responsible for exploring opportunities within the clean technology sectorn and developing Riverside’s specialization in the sector. White was formerly an analyst for Riverside in New York and Brussels. She has previously been an investment banking analyst at Bear Stearns, and has worked on product development and pricing strategy for 3TIER’s wind, solar and hydro assessment and forecasting products.
Man - Jenny Morton has been appointed head of consultant relations within the alternative asset manager’s UK institutional sales team. She was previously head of global consultant relations at Putnam Investments. Morton has also held senior roles at Fidelity, Boston Partners and The Boston Company.
