GLOBAL - PFA, EFRP, T Rowe Price, State Street Global Advisors, SWIP
PFA - Jacob Holmblad has been appointed director of two of the Danish commercial pension fund’s subsidiaries, with effect from 1 September. Holmblad with take the helm at PFA Sundhed and PFA Senior, which provide services to PFA’s pension scheme. PFA Sundhed covers health services, while PFA Senior deals with services offered to scheme members as they approach retirement age. Holmblad is currently vice-president at the International Organisation for Standardisation.
EFRP - Matti Leppälä has been appointed as secretary general of the European Federation for Retirement Provision (EFRP), succeeding Chris Verhaegen. Leppälä will start in his new role when Verhaegen steps down in December. She was appointed chair of the EIOPA Occupational Pensions Stakeholder Group earlier this summer. Leppälä has served for years as director of international, investment and legal affairs at the Finnish Pension Alliance TELA. He has also been involved with the European Association of Paritarian Institutions and the OECD Private Pensions Working Group.
T Rowe Price - Andrew Marks started this week in his new role as UK managing director for US-based investment management firm Artisan Partners. Marks, who is based in London, joins Artisan after 10 years at T Rowe Price Group, where he was most recently director and head of client relationships for the UK and Ireland. At Artisan, he will be responsible for business development and client services outside the US. He will work with the global equity portfolio team managed by Barry Dargan.
State Street Global Advisors (SSgA) - Ben Clissold has joined State Street Global Advisors (SSgA) as senior portfolio manager for liability-driven investment. Clissold, based in London, started his new role at SSgA on 1 August, joining from P-Solve Asset Solutions, where he was most recently deputy chief investment officer. He was promoted to this role - reporting to CIO Glyn Jones - earlier this year. Prior to joining P-Solve - which he left at the end of June this year - Clissold was in charge of equity derivatives trading at Dutch bank ING.
Scottish Widows Investment Partnership (SWIP) - Sarah Wall has been appointed senior asset-backed security investment analyst, joining from M&G Investments, where she was a director of ABS restructuring and, before then, director of ABS credit research. She has also worked at Fitch Ratings as associate director and N M Rothschild & Son in corporate finance, transport and infrastructure.
