Watson Wyatt - Ian Farr, who has been a partner of the firm since 1988, will retire at the end of this month. He has advised a wide range of UK companies and trustee bodies on pension matters, and has been scheme actuary to some of the largest pension schemes in the UK.
Hymans Robertson - Chris Noon was appointed partner, leaving Hewitt in London after 13 years on July 3.
Amonis - Bert Vanbaelen, treasurer and financial controller at Amonis, the Belgian pension fund for Belgian medical professionals, has joined ProCapital Security Services.
Allianz Global Investors - Tobias Pross, chief executive of AllianzGI subsidiary Allianz Pension Partners, will assume responsibility for pension business, the Pension Markets Division, on the board of Allianz Global Investors KAG in Germany. Michael Hüther has been named as independent member of the supervisory board.
Aberdeen - The opening of the new office in Zurich sees Nicholas Shaw, senior business development manager, relocate from London to continue his coverage of Swiss financial institutions, whilst Gudrun Nagel, senior business development manager, will look to further develop the group’s ties with Swiss pension funds and consultants.
Schroders - Michael Taufiqui-von Ahlenfeldt-Dehn has stepped down from his post as head of the German Schroder Property Kapitalanlagegesellschaft office in Wiesbaden, a replacement is being sought. Maha Soueissy, from SHUAA Capital, will join Schroders in Dubai as Middle East Equity Analyst.
Henderson Global Investors - Sascha Kurzidem is the new director institutional business for the real estate business in Frankfurt, covering Germany, Austria and Switzerland. He previously worked at Commerz Grundbesitz Spezialfondsgesellschaft.
Millennium Global Investments - Eelco Fiole is the new group chief financial officer, joining from Centrum Bank in Vaduz. His primary responsibility is to develop and implement the financial infrastructure.
New Star - Donald Pepper will join in September 2008 as new head of alternative investments from Merrill Lynch International.
State Street Global Advisors - Bernard Reilly, senior managing director, overseeing the Asia Pacific (ex-Japan) region, will expand his role to also include Japan. Greg Ehret, senior managing director, and head of European sales and distribution, has been promoted head of SSgA’s business in Europe, the Middle East and South Africa.
State Street - Robert Blake, Lee Ferridge and Christopher Harvey have joined the London and Boston offices as senior strategists. Blake joins the Boston office as senior currency strategist from Bank of America in New York. Ferridge, based in London, was named senior currency strategist, previously at Rabobank International.
Alliance Trust Asset Management - Benedict Lawson has been appointed director of business development at the newly formed subsidiary of Alliance Trust. He joins from Seven Investment Management (7IM).
BlackRock - Fitch Rating’s Lena Lundholm-Micko has joined the Institutional sales team for the Nordic region. She is based in London.
RBS Asset Management - Henderson Global’s Kate O’Neill was appointed to the new role of head of distribution, based in London.
Standard Life Investments - Meunier’s Frédéric Celdran starts in September 2008 in Paris as European development manager.
Cardano - Mercer’s Rakesh Girdharlal has started at the London-based Solutions Team, focusing on asset-liability modeling.
Pimco - Crosby Forsyth’s Gian Luca Giurlani has joined the European remarketing team a senior vice president European institutional remarketing, while BNY Mellon Asset Management’s Maddalena Nocera has been appoinated institutional remarketing account manager. Both will be based in London.
