Goldman Sachs AM - Mike Spiker, co-head of GSAM, is retiring and has been replaced by Edward Forst. Tim O-Neill will continue to work as co-head.
Martijn Hoogendijk and Brittne-Aspen Whitelaw have also been made executive directors of the Benelux distribution team. Hoogendijk was formerly director of the Dutch distribution team at BlackRock while Whitelaw previously held senior fixed income sales positions at Morgan Stanley and ABN Amro.
And Loredana La Pace and Giancarlo Fonseca have joined the Italian team as vice presidents in the third-party distribution. La Pace was a senior relationship manager at Allianz Global Investors in Milan And Fonseca was a senior relationship manager at Alico Wealth Management.
Mercer - Eight senior consultants have joined Mercer’s alternatives boutique and four have moved from existing roles. Simon Fox is a principal specialising in hedge funds, commodities, timber and agricultural investments. Robert Howie is a principal researching hedge funds, infrastructure and insurance-linked securities. Sanjay Mistry is a principal focused on private equity and private debt. And Amarik Ubhi is an associate covering infrastructure and works at the equities boutique covering Asia Pacific including Japanese equities.
Laura Milligan, Christopher Schelling and Shelley Elson will be based in Chicago. Milligan is senior associate responsible for private equity strategies in North America and joins from with Adams Street Partners. Schelling is a senior associate on hedge funds and was at Thomson Reuters as director of alternatives strategies. Elson is a senior associate in hedge fund research, having been an analyst at Glenwood Capital Investments LLC. Jennifer Cowan is a senior associate based in Sydney, Australia, specialising in unlisted assets including private equity. She joined from Mariner Financial.
SAM -Andrew Musters has been promoted to the firm’s executive committee, as well as being global head of private equity at SAM and Robeco.
Aon Consulting - Neil Puxley is now client relationship manager, based in Scotland, having previously been head of the Scottish benefits practice at Towers Watson.
Otkritie Financial Corporation - The Russian financial services provider has appointed Mikhail Belyaev as CEO and chairman of the Board. He was previously senior managing director and replaces Vadim Belyaev who now becomes president of Otkritie.
Deutsche Bank - Daniel Caplan will head up a new team designed to widen access to its managed accounts platform in relation to hedge funds. He will continue his existing role as co-head of prime finance sales and capital introduction in Europe. Guillaume Mathais will assist as senior sales person. He was responsible for managed account distribution in the UK, the Netherlands and Scandinavia at Lyxor Asset Management.
European Fund Administration - Frédéric Bilas has arrived to take over as NAV Operations Director and join the executive committee when Jean Paul Thomas retires on 1 July 2010. He was formerly head of securities at Dexia BIL.
Independent Trustee Services (ITS) - Nita Tinn has been made director, having worked for the last five years as a member and chair of several pension trustee boards.
Cordea Savills - Charles Smith is now associate director for the institutional business team, based in Munich office and focused on developing its German-speaking markets. He was previously responsible for the private placement of real estate funds in Germany at Jones Lang LaSalle Capital Markets in Frankfurt.
AGF Management - The Canadian investment firm has opened an office in Hong Kong and appointed Wee Ping Nah as managing director for Business Development at AGF Investments Asia Limited.
