GLOBAL - Amonis, Aviva Investors, Baring Asset Management, Corestate, PensPlan, RCM, Sacker & Partners, Xafinity Consulting
Amonis - Hugo Lasat has stepped down as chief executive of the Belgian pension fund and joined Petercam as its head of institutional investment, which will also see him sit on the company’s executive board. Prior to joining Amonis in September 2009, he was chief executive of Dexia Asset Management.
Aviva Investors - Tove Bångstad, formerly of SEB Wealth Management, joins as business development director for Sweden. When she assumes the role in February, she will report to Véronique Cherret, director, head of institutional channel, UK and Europe.
Baring Asset Management - Christine Bergstedt Jorgensen has been appointed director of European sales and business development, a new role at the asset manager. Bergstedt Jorgensen joins from Aviva Investors, where she headed up the company’s Nordic sales division for institutional clients. She has also worked at BankInvest, where she held a number of roles. She will be based in London and report to Andre Benton, Barings’ head of UK and international institutional sales.
Corestate - Phillip Burns will join the Swiss private equity investor as chief executive. Burns, former financial managing director of Terra Firma Capital Partners, will split his time between the company’s headquarters in Switzerland and partner offices in the UK, Germany and Luxembourg.
PensPlan - Markus Obermair, former deputy managing director of Südtiroler Sparkasse, has been named managing director of PensPlan Centrum and PensPlan Service. Obermair will assume his role in February.
RCM - Andres Allende has joined the company as portfolio manager in the global emerging markets team. Allende joins from RAB Capital, where he was in charge of the company’s long/short global emerging market strategy. He has previously worked at Credit Suisse.
Sacker & Partners - Tom Jackman joins the pension law firm from Slaughter and May, where he was an associate in the pension and employment group. At Sackers, Jackman will sit on the firm’s investment unit and advise on general pension arrangements.
Xafinity Consulting - Bill Holmes joins as head of the company’s UK investment consulting practice. Holmes, who joined Xafinity 14 years ago, will be charged with growing the company’s practice.
