APG - Menno Snel, director of strategy at the Dutch asset manager, has been named as the Netherlands representative at the International Monetary Fund in Washington. The appointment, which takes effect from October, will see Snel represent a dozen further countries in Central and Eastern Europe.
Acadian Asset Management - The company has hired Sander van Ouwerkerk and Naureen Khan to concentrate on business development in the Benelux region and join the marking and consultant relations team, respectively. Reporting to Laurent De Greef, managing director of the company’s UK-based affiliate, van Ouverkerk joins from Dimensional Fund Advisors, while Khan previously worked at currency manager C-View.
AXA Investment Management - Raj Thamotheram, formerly head of responsible investment and currently senior adviser for responsible investment, is to depart the company by June. Thamotheram will focus on developing the Network for Sustainable Financial Markets following his departure, as well as on completing a book.
Northern Trust - Laurence Everitt has been appointed head of global fund services UK from Capita Group, where he was managing director for its asset servicing business.
Sustainalytics - The company is expanding into the Nordic region, with the appointment of Liz Wirth as senior responsible investment adviser, based in Copenhagen. Wirth has previously worked in Canada, spending a decade at Bank of Montreal, as well as Bank of Canada. In her new role, she will be responsible for both client relationships in the Nordic region, as well as a number of the company’s stock market indices.
ING Investment Management - With the opening of a London office, ING has appointed Paul Waters as director of UK institutional business, with Peter Wilson as director of UK wholesale business. Waters previously worked as head of UK business development at AIG Investments, with experience as head of client services and consultant relationships at Aviva Investors. Wilson spent a number of years as sales director for UK discretionary sales for Invista Real Estate Management prior to his most recent move,
State Street - Maria Cantillon has been appointed the company’s alternative investment solutions business. She was previously a member of the executive committee at BNP Paribas Securities Services in London and has held positions at JP Morgan, based both in Europe and Asia.
Pioneer Investments - Fabien Madar, current head of western Europe, has seen its role expand to include the Nordic region and the Netherlands. Mader will continue to oversee France, Switzerland and Luxembourg in the new role and replaces Jillert Blom, who departed last month.
Muse Advisory - Nick Wyld joins as associate director, with a focus on investment governance and outsourcing consultancy services. Wyld previously worked for Stamford Associates, where he was head of client consulting and has also spent time at Towers Watson.
