EUROPE – Nordea Alternatives & Manager Selection has conducted a search for an US loans manager, using IPE-Quest.
According to QN1282, the wrapping of the strategy will be decided in combination with the selected manager.
Nordea said it would welcome managers to participate with carve outs, given the limited number of managers with dedicated track records.
However, managers participating with carve outs should expect a number of additional questions for "assessing their appropriateness" in the process.
Leverage is prohibited – unless it has been limited to less than 20% – while dedicated European loans strategies are of no interest.
The mandate size is currently undetermined.
The closing date for applications is 14 February.
In other news, NHS Blood & Transplant (NHSBT) is looking to establish an alternative pension fund.
The organisation employs approximately 5,500 staff, with most being members of the NHS Pension Scheme.
Some employees, however, are not entitled to join the scheme, and the organisation is therefore seeking to procure an alternative scheme to comply with UK government legislation on auto-enrolment.
Due to restrictions on timescales and the requirement to be up and running by 1 May, the accelerated restricted OJEU process will be used.
