UK/ITALY – Margherita Martelli has joined the London based Italian institutional sales team of State Street Global Advisors (SSGA).

Martelli, who leaves Unicredito Italiano Pioneer Investments, will work on SSGA’s Italian activities including the 50/50 joint venture with Italy’s Mediolanum and reports to Erich Stock, director of State Street Global Advisors UK and managing director of mediolanum State Street.

SSGA, through Mediolanum, has become one of the three market leaders in the fledgling Italian pension fund arena, having won seven out of the 11 new generation defined contribution (DC) pension fund mandates.
