EUROPE - Mellon Global Investments has hired Julie Dickson from Barclays Global Investments to be director of transition management marketing for Europe.

The Mellon Financial Corp. unit said she would be based in London and report to Greg Brisk, the chief operating officer of Mellon Global Investments.

Dickson will work with Mark Keleher, president of Mellon Transition Management Services in San Francisco.

"Managing costs and risk in portfolio transitions has become much more critical at this time of lower securities market growth, so Julie's appointment is very timely at a time of growing demand for specialist expertise in transition management in Europe," said the unit’s chief executive Jon Little.

"Her proven track record in serving the transition management needs of institutional clients and consultants abroad will be a significant asset to our team," Keleher said.

Mellon said she joins from Barclays Global Investors in London, where she was a product strategist.
